Mindy Kaling has another hit on her hands

Successful screenwriter and producer scores big with HBO’s The Sex Lives of College Girls.

You may remember Mindy Kaling from the American remake of The Office, where she first tried her producer and screenwriting duties, but lately, she has been a very successful showrunner as well. Her show Never Have I Ever has been praised for breaking South Asian stereotypes and it is currently greenlighted for the third season, but Mindy Kaling’s new show just premiered on HBO Max. It is called The Sex Lives of College Girls and follows the lives of four 18-year-old freshmen roommates at Essex College in Vermont, covering their sexually active lifestyle as they deal with different struggles and hardships that college brings.

The Sex Lives of College Girls’ pilot (directed by David Gordon Green (Pineapple Express, Halloween)) was released on November 18th and it currently holds a perfect 100 % score on Rotten Tomatoes. It is the number one HBO show in 21 markets, including the US, South Asia, and South America as well. The show features four protagonists, but the main character of Kimberly is played by Pauline Chalamet, the older sister of the more famous Timothée Chalamet.
